Here are 2 more great stories - I just couldn't resist!
First, from a client:
"I have been behind at work, due in part to trying to manage my older son's
needs to see several doctors repeatedly over the past month. Today, I
had a project due that I could not complete. I asked the archangel
Michael for help this morning working it out so that I would not set my
colleagues back while still being able to attend to my son. I requested
that any help be given for the highest good of all concerned.
"Today, my colleague told me that the project has been delayed so that
she can focus in other more important areas. This means I will catch up
with no repercussions.
"Additionally, I asked for help with keeping my sons healthy. The baby
recently was diagnosed with eczema. His doctor said it could be a long
term condition. In a serendipitous conversation with my sister, she
relayed that a certain kind of bee balm was very good for eczema. The
afternoon I talked with her, I found that exact product stored away in
my husband's closet. A colleague had given it to him for the baby. He
had forgotten to put it with the baby's creams. We've used it with
terrific results."
Second, from a friend, a naturally hilarious guy:
"Ever since I was asked to be Denny's best man over 2 years ago, I've
gone in and out of obsessing on 'the speech.' I know what I'm capable of but
I suffered from horrible stage fright. I absolutely dreaded the thought
of public speaking even though I knew with certainty that I could be great
if only I was relaxed enough.
"I specifically asked for a miracle to happen for the best man speech. I
told my therapist [that], and I asked for her good vibes. She's very
spiritual and believes in the power of 'asking' for what you want and need.
"What happened on Sunday was magical. I could never in my wildest dreams
have predicted this outcome.
"I NEVER obsessed about the speech all day. I enjoyed the wedding, taking
pictures, hanging with friends as they joked about whether I was nervous or
not. I knew it was OK to just be myself, relax, pause and go for it.
"The wedding coordinator tapped me on the shoulder and said, "you're up in 5
minutes!" For some reason I felt pretty good! It was so bizarre. I had
planned so many opening lines for this speech and when it came time to get
up I had NO IDEA what I would start out with.
"I was up for 10 minutes and literally had everyone in stitches. I did a top
ten list of things that come to mind when I think of this couple. I sang a
bit as a joke regarding a point I was making. I've been dreading this day
for a couple of years and for some bizarre reason, when it came time to get
up and do it this easy relaxed strength came over me that I've never felt
before in a crowd ever. It was like magic. I was not only at my very best, I
exceeded that by a LONG shot! I don't know if it was all the support from
everyone 'thinking' about me (I'd asked lots of people to send good vibes),
but something strange happened. I had the entire crowd hanging on every
word. They were in the palm of my hands. I made eye contact around the room.
I took my time, I paused and spoke loudly and clearly and with passion.
"I was told by so many people when it was over that it was the best one
they'd ever heard. They wished it didn't end. And on and on! It was easily
the most strange and at the same time elating experiences of my life.
"I now know I'll take the next step to stand-up comedy where I [have] let
fear stand in the way of what I knew I should be doing."
Have fun asking and receiving!
In love and light,
Hollis
